Philanthropy
Murdoch is an ambassador for the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute in Melbourne and is heavily involved in charitable activities. She is a member of its board of directors as well. In 1986, Murdoch’s husband’s grandmother established the Institute, Australia’s leading child health research institution. In other parts of Australia, Murdoch served on the board of the Australian Research Alliance for Children and Youth and was a longtime supporter of the National Breast Cancer Foundation. She established and oversaw the young patron program while serving on the board of Public Theater in New York.
